As you plan to attend CMU or CMU Tech, we are here to help you every step of the way.
Applicant Portal
Check out your applicant portal to start on your next steps. Log in with the email address and password you used to apply for admission. If you applied on the Common App, check your admission decision email for your temporary password.
1. Class Registration
First-time and transfer students are required to submit a New Student Enrollment form for first semester classes. The form will be available to CMU Scholars on February 1 and all admitted students on February 15.

We encourage you to check out your program sheet to see the classes you will take to earn your degree.

Submit your New Student Enrollment Form
Submit your New Student Enrollment Form in your applicant portal.

Submit your SAT/ACT results for class placement purposes
Upload your SAT/ACT score report in your applicant portal for class placement purposes. Check to see if you need to complete class placement testing.

Request AP/IB scores and official transcripts
Request for AP or IB scores to be sent from the respective testing organization to CMU. Request for official transcripts for concurrent/dual enrollment courses to be sent from the issuing institution to CMU.

Confirm your class schedule
Your academic advisor will email you your class schedule when it is ready. You must submit the eform in the message to approve your schedule or confirm that you plan to make schedule changes.
2. Housing
CMU requires that all students admitted as first year freshmen (defined as any student who graduated from high school within two years of enrollment term) live in a residence hall for four semesters, subject to availability of space, unless they request and are granted an exemption.

Apply for housing
The housing application opens on November 1 for the following spring and fall. Submit your housing contract, application and $200 prepayment.

The Residence Life Office will email you when your housing assignment is available. You can also check your MyHousing app.

Prepare for move-in
Move-in dates and details will be provided by the Residence Life Office.
3. Student Finances

Confirm your tuition classification
This is listed on your acceptance letter. If it’s not what you expected, contact the Tuition Classification Officer in the Admissions Office at [email protected].

Apply for the College Opportunity Fund
If you are classified as an in-state student (Colorado resident), this will reduce your direct tuition cost. After you apply for COF, you must authorize CMU to use the funds on the 'My Account' page in MAVzone.

Complete the FAFSA or CASFA
The Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) determines a student's eligibility for financial aid such as grants and loans and is the first step to be considered for work study. The CASFA is available for undocumented/DACA Colorado ASSET students.

Apply for scholarships
CMU Merit Scholarships are automatically offered based on the application for admission. CMU also offers an annual scholarship application in MAVzone. The priority due date is Feb. 12 for the following academic year.

Review and accept your financial aid award offer
Your offer will be available after you have applied for financial aid and provided any additional documentation if requested. 2024-2025 offers based on the FAFSA or CASFA are planned to begin in March.

Review the Financial Responsibility Agreement
Carefully review and accept the agreement.

View and manage your bill
The ePay app is where you can view your semester bill. Semester bills are due at the beginning of the semester by being paid in full or by enrolling in a free semester payment plan. You can set up electronic refunds and give a parent or supporter access to ePay for billing purposes.
4. Finalize Enrollment

Request final transcripts
If you applied to CMU before completing high school or a college semester, contact your school to request that they send your final transcript directly to the Admissions Office via mail, electronic delivery service or email to [email protected].

Verify your Social Security Number
Review and verify your Social Security Number on the 'My Account' page in MAVzone.

Submit your MMR immunization records
Colorado State law requires college students to show proof of MMR immunization.

Submit proof of Selective Service
Submit your proof of registration if requested.

Address other registration holds
Make sure you identify and address your registration holds. Click for details of common holds.
5. Campus Arrival
As you prepare to make CMU your home away from home, we encourage you to dive in, get involved and make the most of your college career.

Complete your MAVcard submission process
Open the MyPhotos App in MAVzone.

View the CMU academic calendar
Familiarize yourself with important dates, semester breaks and exam schedules.

Look up your textbooks
Use The Maverick Store search tool to identify the textbooks you'll need.

Purchase your parking pass
Purchase your parking pass. Due to ongoing construction and limited parking, we encourage freshman students not to bring cars to campus. As CMU continues to expand geographically, and with first-come first-served parking, students often struggle to find parking in close proximity to their residence hall. With an abundance of safe and free transportation options such as Mav Rides, The Dash and Mav Bike rentals, we find students can easily access on- and off-campus activities.
