Below are a variety of resources to help with everything from knowing your rights to financial assistance to programs for helping in the classroom to careers.
General Disability Information

Financial Resources
- Money Management for Students with Disabilities - The guide contains nearly 140 resources on financial literacy, saving money, and budgeting, specifically for disabled students.
- Colorado Mesa University's Scholarship website provides information on numerous scholarships available to students.
Alternate formats for students with print disabilities
- Learning Ally provides audio recordings of many textbooks. Membership for students with qualifying print disabilities.
- Bookshare provides print disabled people in the United States with legal access to over 36,050 books and 150 periodicals that are converted to Braille, large print or digital formats for text to speech audio. Now free to all U.S. students with qualifying disabilities.
- VitalSource is a platform that provides many digital textbooks for students on the CMU campus, it also has several accessibility features. Learn more about the notetaking, read aloud, and visual customization offered by VitalSource's accessibility options.
Technology for college students with disabilities
- Free and Low Cost Applications and Programs provides various programs to help with note-taking, organization, audiobooks, grammar assistants, and other reading/writing applications.
- Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology (DO-IT) provides resources for students preparing for college and careers.
Employment
- Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation assists individuals whose disabilities result in barriers to employment to succeed at work and live independently.
- Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is a resource for workplace productivity enhancements and reasonable accommodation solutions.
- GettingHired.com is a national employment and social networking portal connecting job seekers with disabilities and employers committed to hiring them.
